Bifur
The Bifur is a 12-string, 6-course electric hammered-dulcimer-like instrument made on a shoestring from a 2x4 with chessman bridges bifurcating the strings at just ratios. Humbucker pickups routed in stereo out, give a wide, complex stereo image on the struck and unstruck sides of each course of strings.
Below are pictures and video of the instrument and an example of a "bridging" for a specific song, showing the pitches on either side of each bridge.
